When a dogs holds his tail high this could mean he feels dominant. If he or she holds their tail low this could be a sign of aggression or just mean they are being submissive.

Of course means their very well-developed sense of smell. When talking them for a walk let them enjoy the use of their sense of smell.

Your dog uses his sense of smell as a form of communication with other dogs and as a way of understanding where they have been before. They might even been trying to communicate where you should be taking them for a walk. If they been there before their sense of smell will let your dog know. This could also mean they understand that after you are taking them for a walk you will eventually give them a treat such as a milk bone.
